Game drive for your DIY arcade

At Arcade Systems we want the at-home arcade experience to be as accessible as possible. This is why we have decided to make a specific version of the free arcade software we use available for people who are building their own arcade or DIY home entertainment system.

The drive we supply to you is a 250GB high performance, low latency SSD. It comes pre-formatted and loaded with all the free software you need to get your DIY arcade up and running in minutes, not hours, weeks or days.

All you need to do is install the 250GB SSD into your own PC based arcade system, and assign the correct drive letter to your new drive. (The details are in the supplied instructions).

Our game drive also includes the free tools needed to make the changes in Windows so that your DIY arcade machine boots directly into the arcade game menu, without needing a keyboard or mouse.

incredible attention to detail

We have put many months of research and configuration into our drive so you don’t have to! The attention to detail is incredible, with features such as:

Your DIY arcade system needs to have at least 8GB RAM, and at least a quad-core CPU with a clock speed of 3.8GHz or higher. If you want to add your own STEAM library then your cabinet will need to have access to the internet.

Our game controls are pre-configured to work with either PC-Xbox controllers or any controller device that supports “X-input”. So you’ll need to have built your cabinet with an iPAC 2 usb encoder (or other X-input encoder).

If you are building your own arcade-style control panel you’ll need to account for 6 buttons per player, plus dedicated buttons for “start” and “coin/select”.

Also the screen attached to your DIY arcade needs to be 1080p (1920×1080). Resolutions above 1080p will also work however the best results are with a 1080p screen. (original graphics can only stretch so far :))

To be clear we are only selling you the 250GB SSD. The software pre-loaded onto the drive is freely available online, we are simply saving you the months of effort required to collate, test and configure a gaming system such as this.
