Home Arcade Machines are awesome

Arcade machines are one of the few ways both adults and children can enjoy video games together. Also as players can compete against each other,  watch each other play and also work together as a team to defeat the computer… they make for an awesome social bonding experience accross generations.

Arcade machines are an ideal way to encourage teamwork and  a fun way to reconnect with friends, family, or even be that conversation starter needed to foster new relationships.

An arcade machine at home looks seriously awesome and has that unbeatable “cool” factor.

Our home arcade machines are easy to use and require no setup time, making them ideal for casual video games when you want to get started quickly and jump right into the action. No downloading and installing games, configuring settings, troubleshooting technical issues or learning “how to play”.

Arcade Systems home arcade machines are built to last and are designed to function offline without an internet connection. Meaning you don’t have to worry about internet issues, subscription fees, or other online-related problems that can make computer games difficult.

ARCADE SYSTEMS Google Reviews

Approx 3,500 games are included

We are constantly optimising the game list so thats why we say “approx” 🙂

Don’t be fooled buy some arcade machines that claim to have an outrageous amount of games on them. The number is massively inflated by all the different language versions of the same game, over and over.

CAPCOM, Konami and SNK/NEO-GEO only ever released ~200 games each in the 90’s so there is no way a system can have 6,400 arcade games unless they are including every clone, copy, boot-leg and poor quality game they can find.

Arcade Systems has a strong focus on quality over quantity. Only the games that have decent game-play and good graphics (for their age) are included in our systems.

Also all games with any kind of betting / gambling / adult content have been intentionally removed and will not be re-added.

incredible attention to detail

We have put many months of research and configuration into arcade game setup so you don’t have to! The attention to detail is incredible, with features such as:

Joysticks & Buttons

The very best spanish-imported joysticks from Industrias Lorenzo are used in all our arcade machines. They have a firm robust feel with accurate diagonals, making them the ideal choice for fighting games.

The buttons are a special “AusLeaf” style that combine the old-school look of original retro “dimple” arcade buttons with modern day micro-switches and quiet operation of authentic Japanese “candy cabinet” SANWA buttons. They are quiet and not so “clicky” as their ancestors but they offer a superior response time and reduce the strain when gaming for hours at a time.

You can now choose buttons from a range of different colours, it doesn’t have to be the NEO-GEO colour scheme in our pictures.

high grade Internal components

Our arcade machines are powered by gaming PCs custom made for you. The following cmponents are included however customisations are welcome.

Internal PC components of our Arcade Systems cabinet include:

  • AMD Ryzen 5 5500 6 Core 12 Thread CPU.
  • 16GB 3200MHz RAM.
  • 1TB NVMe SSD hard drive.
  • GTX 1660 / RTX 3050 / RX 6500  graphics card options.
  • Our in-house gaming emulation software, setup and pre-loaded.
  • WiFi built in.
  • Rear port USB hub.
  • Stereo Speakers with rear volume control .
  • All built upon a fully licenced Windows 11 PC environment.

+ 165Hz gaming grade SCREENS

The 27″inch wide-screen +165Hz variable refresh monitor is the ideal choice that makes both old-school arcade games and modern PC games look amazing.

Variable refresh is a real thing… I couldn’t believe how much of a difference it makes when games run at their native speed.

Old school arcades were often coded with single frame “flashes” when things explode, or alternating single frames of black-nothing-black to simulate transparencies like shadows.

With a “crappy” 60-75Hz monitor these effects go unnoticed or at worst look like graphical glitches and errors.. But with a high frame rate variable refresh monitor it’s glorious.

Strong cabinet contruction

The arcade machien cabinet is built with 16mm commercial grade CNC cut melamine coated MDF (Laminex). It’s the same material used to build kitchens and office furniture.

Our widescreen arcade has improved cabinet joinery, resulting in fewer external screw holes and creating a cleaner overall aesthetic for the cabinet. The glass is 5mm thick, and tinted with a little oxide, which improves the contrast and UV resistance of the monitor.

The control panel is a single piece of machined and laser cut metal. The improvements that we have made to the overall strength and rigidity of the cabinet can’t be overstated. It really is a premium solution.

The cabinet dimensions for the widescreen arcade are; 145cm high, 50cm deep from the wall, and 72cm wide.

custom arcade menu system

We have hand-crafted a great set of categories and sections to allow easy discovery of great games you may remember from the past.

This system works well for players who have a distant recollection of the games they used to play, and new players who are discovering games for the first time.
Unlike some systems, our game selection system does not rely on you remembering the name of +30 year old games.

If you can’t remember the game name but can remember what it looked like, we have a great set of quick scrolling visuals that show both the logo and a short video of each game.

Accurate emulators only

At Arcade Systems we maintain our own emulation code, so we prefer to use only a handful of the best emulators, rather than every possible emulator imaginable.

The emulators used in our arcade cabinet software are tried and tested by the global community, and also (most crucially) they are able to be used without a keyboard and mouse, and are more focussed on representing the game accurately rather than “just getting the game to work”.

A ridiculous amount of hours has gone into optimizing our emulation software suite for use in Arcade Systems’s specific cabinets.

Most of the games on the arcade are evaluated using MAME… but this isn’t your vanilla variety MAME, this is a custom configured monster with so much hand-written code I can’t even begin.

For other games we use the following:

  • For PS3 we use RPCS3
  • For NAOMI and Dreamcast we use Flycast
  • XBox we use Xenia
  • Wii we use Dolphin

Additionaly we also use Reshade to implement the CRT look and feel into emulators that dont have adequate CRT emulation.
